A 41-YEAR-OLD man has been found guilty of three child sex offences.

Krzystof Kamil Lis approached a teenage girl on her way to school and handed her a note which read “you can have me anytime you want”.

He was arrested the next day and police officers found that his phone contained 42 indecent images.

Lis has schizophrenia and his defence argued was that his mental illness made him incapable of being criminally responsible.

But Jurats convicted Lis following a three-day trial at the Royal Court.

Following the conviction, Police Sergeant James Clark said: “The girl in this case must be commended for coming forward and reporting this to her teacher and stopping Lis doing this to another young girl.

“The States of 鶹 Police are committed to catching those who offend in this way and ensuring that they are put before the courts.”

The Deputy Bailiff, Sir Robert MacRae, was presiding. The Jurats sitting were David Gareth Hughes and Andrew Lawrence Cornish.
